His ‘star’ as a potential singer started when he sang at a student council election in Placer, Masbate. He was still a third grader back then. From that experience, he was confident enough to join singing tilts.

When his sister asked him to come to Manila in 2006, he did not let any opportunity pass by, he auditioned for Pinoy Pop Superstar, but it was only on his second attempt that he finally made it and joined the Year 3 of the said singing competition produced by GMA-7 and was hosted by Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez.

Among the many appearances on television he had, he specifically remembers those of that on Little Star on GMA-7 - portrayed Jiro Manio’s friend (2010), Pilipinas Got Talent (2010), Diz Iz It (2010), ANC’s Morning Show (2010), Eat Bulaga (2009), and was also a house singer for Singing Bee (2007) along with Apples Chiu, Michael Cruz and Led Soprepeña. Garth Garcia of Rom-Boys Club

His entry to singing was through his participation in Mr. and Ms. Science and Technology when he was still grade four. From then on, he joined choirs and singing competitions, which further honed his singing craft and his confidence as well.

In his high school, at Davao del Sur High School, he competed with his choir in different school choir competitions.

Garth’s towering height at five feet and ten inches tall allowed him to venture into the world of modeling as well. He did both print and ramp modeling. He was a print model for Boardwalk in 2008, while he strutted for Filigrenasia Fashion Shows in 2009 and 2010, respectively, Lifestyle Fashion Show in 2009, and Philippine Fashion Week for Wrangler in 2010.

In the film ‘Can this be Love?’ with Hero Angeles and Sandara Park, he did a cameo role as well. While singing tilts on television, he was no alien to it. He was part of ABS-CBN’s Star in a Million for its Season 2 (2007), Eat Bulaga’s Singing with Dabarkadas (2007), Pilipinas Got Talent Season 1 (2010).

When ABS-CBN launched its singing game show called ‘Twist and Shout’ in 2010, he was part of its teaser.

In the group, he has the soulful voice of Brian McKnight and influences of Boys 2 Men and Gary Valenciano.

When asked what would be his priority with all the talents he has, he was quick to reply, “Singing comes first, then modeling and acting in that particular order.”

Garth is an HRM graduate from Lyceum Manila in 2009.
